About the Gypsy:

The Juggling Gypsy is an intimate performance artists' hideout, expressing creativity in a "highly participatory" environment.

The Juggling Gypsy is an alternative arts venue, listening room, exploratory theatrish lab...And even "the
Venue for those with no Venue"...a sort of breaking ground, trying ground, experimental “weigh station” for
local bands getting started, established bands' members in new projects, and experimental side projects from both categories, and also troupes or bands "making it/made it/or staying out of it", who long for the intimate
stage, or need to experiment...And of course, a safe-haven stop-through for regional, national and even
international acts of all kinds.

We have an indoor seating of apx 50-60 tight when tables can be removed fo live acts. The interior changes weekly, so we actually hold various capacity. We have a large outdoor patio with a Geodesic dome, and outside front yard, patio, roof top, large parking lot area, and any number of outside avenues for interesting opportunities for performance shows of all kinds with various capacities over 100. Several larger acts have performed on
an outside stage, with unlimited capacity, which we can apply for all necessary public assemblage
permits, noise permits, etc, with advance notice,& measures taken to ensure all audience members paying cover.

We are a performance cafe, bar, eatery and hookah den. The art that is performed here is off-center, strange, and generally fringe. We have a weekly schedule of performances which range from Capoiera Jams, Open Music jams, Fire Throwers, Belly Dancers, circus artists, jugglers, magic, certainly lots of live music, and of course, and everything a traditional music venue is not.

Our general pay rate, therefore, is also nontraditional. As a performers' venue~ Started, operated, and
owned by performers, we understand and relate to quandaries you may have about playing for the arts fringe. We cannot pay artists up front at their demanded general fees at this point. IF this does not interest you, read no further.

Our pay to artists is in most cases, a door cover arrangement and an extensive cooperation/marketing
system: That is, although we cannot afford to pay what most venues may or may not be willing to offer, we do provide a wild assortment of offerings that may be of interest to traveling artists such as yourselves.

We offer a great venue for exposure to new fans, name recognition to an ever-increasing e-list of currently about 1500 addresses in the greater Wilmington area, Promotion in the Music listings of the major entertainment magazines in the greater Wilmington area, A street team on hand to distribute flyers on the two Major College campuses in Wilmington, website listing on ours and reciprocal sites affiliated with us, & a referral/ in-depth database provided to our arriving acts, detailing contact names and numbers of every major press, TV, Internet and several radio organizations in the area in order to assist you in co-marketing your show.

And chances are, if you use the promo info, you will get press.

We have attracted national and international touring acts of almost every genre of performance art.

The stranger your performance is, the better we like it. But you can be normal too…

Also, We offer 100 different beers, and offer unlimited $2 beers to bands, and food!!! Many beers are quality
micros, and the food is vegetarian, vegan, carnivorous, and huge. We are almost always able to arrange accommodations within our grass-roots network for bands traveling long-distances with advance notice whenever possible. Note, this doesn't mean we put the acts up in hotels. By grass roots, we mean couches/guest rooms/even floor space - whatever it takes to keep the touring acts rolling. Most commonly, this is arranged by a simple announcement to staff and regulars during the night of show.

The Juggling Gypsy is a performance venue for the alternative & fringe arts, operated and owned by
like-minded artists. Whether or not you decide to play here, do stop by the most unique place in town. If you are interested in performing at the Gypsy, either using us as your only destination in town...as a
stopping point between routes, or in addition to other Venues booked in Wilmington, we can assure you a unique experience, a great time, and a whole new demographically eclectic potential future fan base.

Thank you for your interest in performing at the infamous Juggling Gypsy through on Monday night through A. Warner Entertainment!
